Chesterfield take on Dover Athletic at the Proact Stadium as the betting tips continue in the National League on Saturday afternoon with the hosts desperate to break out of their recent poor run of form.
Following a bright start to their new life in the National League, where they collected three straight wins over Ebbsfleet United, Aldershot Town and Braintree Town, Martin Allen’s side have since slumped to six straight defeats ahead of this important clash on Saturday.
Defeats to Barrow, Salford City, Barnet, Hartlepool United, Leyton Orient and Boreham Wood have resulted in The Spireites sliding down the non-league top flight league table to 17th place, and the pressure is now on to halt this alarming dip in form.
Midfielder Charlie Carter (2 goals) is likely to be sidelined for another week through injury.
Visitors Dover Athletic have also suffered a recent run of defeats as they lost four on the trot against Fylde, Eastleigh, Leyton Orient and Barnet, but they did manage to stop the rot during the week when they held Ebbsfleet United to a 1-1 draw at their Perrys Crabble Stadium.
The Kent outfit now make their way up to Chesterfield where they’ll be hopeful of taking advantage of Chesterfield’s recent slide in form, although Dover have also lost their last three away matches on the trot as well.
Dover opened their account on the road this season with a 2-2 draw away at Bromley, but their last three defeats means they’ll also be chasing a much needed win against Chesterfield here today.
