Chesterfield and Notts County to share the points in M1 clash

League One/Two Tips

CHESTERFIELD v NOTTS COUNTY

Sunday 25th March 2018 – Kickoff: 1230hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

This weekend’s League Two action wraps up on Sunday lunchtime when Chesterfield take on Notts County at the Proact Stadium with both teams needing all three points today, and although there’s only 26 miles separating these two teams, they both sit at almost opposite ends of the table.

Chesterfield are fighting for their Football League lives as they sit second from bottom and six points adrift of third from bottom club, Grimsby Town, and although they have three games in hand over The Mariners, they still need to get results from these, starting today. But with just one win from their last seven, this will not be easy for Chesterfield.

Chesterfield possess a home record of  6-3-10  22/29 and The Spireites have picked up recent wins against Luton Town and Swindon Town, but have also suffered defeats to Stevenage, Crawley Town, Cambridge United and Lincoln City. However, manager, John lester, has the likes of striker Kristian Dennis (15 goals) in attack.

Following a run of 10 league matches where Notts County registered just three wins from the start of this year, Kevin Nolan’s side come into this local derby having put together a four match unbeaten sequence which has cemented their place in the play-off pack.

Recent wins over Stevenage (at home) and Forest Green Rovers (away) along with points off Cheltenham Town and Mansfield Town have helped keep The Magpies in the mix for at least a top seven finish, but Nolan will be urging his troops on for the final push with just eight league matches remaining for County.

The visitors have lost just twice all season at Meadow Lane, but their results away from home still need further attention as they’ve managed just two wins from their last 14 on their travels, which were at Morecambe and Forest Green Rovers amidst an overall record of  6-7-6  23/22. 7 of these last 14 away matches have ended in a draw, and I think we could see another stalemate here…
