The Belgian domestic season also resumes on Friday night with early league leaders, Club Brugge taking on Lokeren at the Jan Breydelstadion as the betting tips continue in the First Division A.
Club Brugge have got their new Belgian top flight season off to a great start as Friday night’s hosts have won five of their first six league matches overall which has placed them top of the pile with a two point lead ahead of second placed Genk.
In addition, Brugge possess an impressive 100% home record which stands at an imposing 3-0-0 10/3 having recorded convincing wins over AS Eupen 5-2, Kortrijk 3-0 and a 2-1 win over Anderlecht.
Manager Ivan Leko has the attacking trio of Vossen (3 goals) along with Wesley (2 goals) and Groeneveld (3 goals) to choose from. I would imagine that Leko will be keen for his side to kill the visitors off early here as Club Brugge have their opening Champions League match coming up next Thursday against Borussia Dortmund.
Onto Lokeren then, and the visitors currently occupy a lowly third from bottom position in the Belgian top flight having registered just one win so far this season from their six matches played to date.
Lokeren started the new season in rather disastrous fashion as they suffered a heavy opening day defeat at home to Genk 4-0 and they continued winless from their next four matches with losses to Cercle Brugge, Standard Liege and Gent as well as a draw with Sint-truiden.
However, Lokeren will have reasonable cause for some optimism ahead of their trip to Brugge as they went into the international break on the back of a 1-0 home win over Waasland-Beveren which would have been a timely boost for the early strugglers.
But even with an upcoming Champions League fixture for Club Brugge, I can’t see Lokeren causing them problems here so my betting tips suggest a few goals and a home win in this one.
