Welcome to my World Cup 2018 betting tips, and Colombia and England play the final match of the round of 16 knock-out matches when they meet at the Spartak Stadium with the final place in the quarter-finals up for grabs for both nations.

Colombia emerged from a tough Group H as group winners as they edged out Japan, Senegal and Poland with just three points separating all four teams, as the Colombians showed their resilience and character to overcome an opening group defeat to Japan.

Colombia had a player sent off against Japan after only five minutes on the clock, which saw Japan take a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot, but although Colombia levelled to make it 1-1 just before half-time, Japan’s numerical advantage eventually wore Colombia down to win 2-1.

However, Colombia bounced back in style as they ran out easy 3-0 winners over a disappointing Poland side, then followed that up with a narrow 1-0 win over Senegal on match day three to earn a place in the last 16.

Carlos Sanchez has screened the back four admirably, while Rodriguez, Quintero and Cuadrado have been a formidable attacking trio behind striker Falcao, who has spearheaded Colombia’s attack.

Onto England, and they got what they deserved after manager, Gareth Southgate, made several changes in what was a ‘dead rubber’ against Belgium in their final group match in Group G as the Three Lions lost 1-0 after a dismal display by England’s fringe players.

Southgate’s ploy may well backfire on him as England now take on the more dangerous outfit of Colombia, as they failed to beat Belgium to take on Japan – despite the claims of Southgate, they’re in for a very tough match indeed here.

England did as expected in their first two group matches, and that was to account for Tunisia (2-1) and Panama (6-1), but although they looked distinctly average against Belgium, I’m expecting a very different England line-up against Colombia, not least because their only world-class player, Kane, will start up front.

It’s hard to say who will run out overall winners here, but my betting tips strategy suggest that both teams will score in this clash.
