Coventry City Preview – Sky Blues to extend unbeaten run to six?

After winning promotion as EFL League One champions, Coventry City have found the step up to the Championship tough going at times. The Sky Blues started their season with seven defeats from their opening 11 league matches.

However, since a narrow 3-2 loss at Watford in November, which was their fourth defeat in five matches, Coventry have gone on a five-game unbeaten run in the Championship. Mark Robins’ boys have won two and drawn three.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
10/11

Last time out, City beat Rotherham United 3-1 at St Andrew’s Trillion Trophy Stadium. Goals from Maxime Biamou, Tyler Walker and Leo Skiri Ostigard did the damage in that one.

Coventry will be hoping to build on the home victory over the Millers by securing back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Can the Sky Blues take all three points from this one?

Luton Town Preview – Hatters to leave Birmingham with a point?

Nathan Jones’ Luton Town have picked up just one win from their last six, losing two of the previous three. Both of those losses came in South Wales, as they were beaten 4-0 by Cardiff City and 2-0 by Swansea City.

Nevertheless, on the whole, Luton have made a fine start to their season. Last Wednesday’s impressive 3-1 home victory over Championship leaders Norwich City was their sixth league victory of the season. The Hatters are nicely placed in 12th at present, taking a respectable 22 points from 16 matches.

After last weekend’s 2-0 loss to Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, Town will be after a positive result in Birmingham on Tuesday. The away win is currently available at 23/10, with the draw being the same price.

Coventry City vs Luton Town Betting Advice

On paper, these two teams seem pretty evenly matched. When they last met, the Sky Blues and Hatters drew 1-1 in a League One fixture back in February 2019. In fact, two of the last three meetings have ended in draws.

Key Facts – Coventry City vs Luton Town Betting Tip

  • Coventry and Luton have drawn nine Championship games between them this season
  • The Sky Blues are unbeaten in five, though three of those have been draws
  • Luton have taken just one point from their last three away games, scoring one and conceding seven

After two heavy away defeats in Wales, Luton will no doubt take a point now if offered. As for Coventry, a draw would extend their unbeaten run to six. Have a punt on the draw and both teams to score in this one, which you can get at the tempting price of 15/4.

James Collins is Luton’s top scorer in the Championship with three goals to his name. The 30-year-old has scored six league and cup goals overall, with four of those coming against current Championship leaders Norwich. Put a few quid on Collins to open the scoring in this one at 11/2.
