Crystal Palace return to their beloved Selhurst Park after their FA Cup third round exit away at rivals Brighton last weekend, but I daresay The Eagles won’t be too disappointed as they return to the priority matter in hand, and that is to avoid being dragged back down into the relegation battle.
Since his arrival, manager, Roy Hodgson, has worked wonders at Palace as they’ve not only lifted themselves off the bottom of the Premier League table, but out of the bottom three, and now up to the relative safety of 14th place.
However, they’re still only two points above the relegation zone, but having suffered just one defeat from their last 11 league matches overall, and with an improving record at home, they’ve become a hard team to beat, especially at home where they’ve lost just once in their last eight.
Without question, Burnley have been the surprise package of this English top flight season to date as they sit in 7th place ahead of their trip down to the capital this Saturday. Burnley’s success so far this season has been an improved showing on their travels as their record on the road stands at a creditable 4-5-2 11/11, which includes wins at Chelsea, Southampton and Everton.
However, The Clarets are without a win from their last five matches overall as they’ve been held to draws at Brighton, Manchester United and Huddersfield Town, but they may well fancy their chances of getting something at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
The forward line of Vokes, Wood and Barnes can create a few headaches, while Palace possess a revitalised Saha as well as goalscoring midfielder, Milivojevic.
