Football – England – Premier League Betting Tips

An intriguing contest is in store at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon when Crystal Palace take on newly promoted Huddersfield Town from the Championship, as we get our first look of the new Palace manager as well as new faces to the Premier League of the visiting Terriers.

Crystal Palace were another side that were in danger of pitching a relegation battle as former manager, Alan Pardew, struggled for results as the Eagles’ slow decline towards the basement of the division grew at an alarming rate. Pardew was replaced by former disgraced England manager, Sam Allardyce, and although the results were sporadic, Big Sam ultimately pulled them out of the mire.

Key wins against Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea turned the tide for Palace, with the latter win being achieved at Stamford Bridge against the eventual Premier League title winners. Allardyce swiftly announced his shock retirement at the end of the season, with his reputation restored, and former Ajax manager, Frank De Boer has taken over.

Palace striker, Benteke, needs another 15-goal tally this season, and he’s likely to receive creative support from the likes of Townsend, Zaha and Cabaye.

Visitors Huddersfield Town, will embark upon their first ever season in the Premier League, and their first season back in the English top flight since 1972, some 45 years ago! German manager, David Wagner, is currently the toast of the West Yorkshire club after he guided them to promotion via a Play-Off final win over Reading at Wembley.

He now must ensure that all the hard work from last season doesn’t go to waste. The Terriers have signed Tom Ince, retained Aaron Mooy and acquired the services of Belgian striker, Depoitre from Porto, who had previously notched 27 goals in two seasons for Belgian club, Gent in the Jupiler League.

Much will depend though, upon Huddersfield’s ability to defend, and in particular, away from their John Smith’s Stadium, as this will be key to their Premier League survival.

Bizarre as it seems, the outcome of this match could well be one of the keys to determining relegation or survival come the end of the season…
