Football – Europe – World Cup Qualifiers Betting Tips

The european section of the World Cup qualifiers continues on Saturday evening with Denmark taking on Republic of Ireland at the Telia Parken in Copenhagen as the hosts look to press home their advantage on home soil this evening.

Denmark come into this two-legged play-off in strong form as they’ve put together a nine match unbeaten run in all competitions, along with a solid looking home record of  3-1-1 10/3 which is no small thanks to the likes of Tottenham’s Eriksen, as well as a useful forward line comprising of Jorgensen, Bendtner and Braithwaite.

In addition, the Danes are unbeaten in their last seven World Cup qualifiers overall, which also includes home wins over Armenia, Kazakhstan and Poland – the latter being a 4-0 romp over a Polish side containing prolific striker, Lewandowski.

Republic of Ireland were narrowly edged out by Serbia for the top position in Group D despite winning their final group match 1-0 away at Wales, so Martin O’Neill’s side will have to go through a two-legged play-off with Denmark, starting with the first leg in Copenhagen on Saturday night.

The Irish are a plucky lot though, and they suffered just one defeat throughout their group campaign which was a 1-0 defeat at home to group winners, Serbia, but they actually achieved better results away from home, with an away record of  3-2-0  8/4, so it may well suit them to be on the road for this first leg.

Wins at Moldova, Austria and Wales show they need to be respected, and with a forward line consisting of former Ipswich Town pair, Murphy and McGoldrick, as well as Southampton’s Shane Long, they should be worth a goal tonight.
