Derby’s impressive three-match winning sequence came to an abrupt halt on the weekend when they suffered a 1-0 defeat away at Rotherham United following a contentious penalty decision for the hosts which resulted in a furious Frank Lampard being sent to the stands as Derby folded.
The hosts had previously racked up wins over Ipswich Town, Preston North End and Hull City and they return to Pride Park for tonight’s clash with Blackburn where the Rams have won five of their last six in the second tier.
Midfielder Lawrence (3 goals) leads the goalscoring charts and he has the likes of Waghorn, Nugent and Jozefzoon up front in support.
Blackburn Rovers were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Aston Villa but Rovers will feel they’ve been robbed from all three points as it took a last minute free-kick from Villa’s Hourihane to draw level.
Nevertheless, it’s just one defeat for Blackburn in their return to the Championship so far which was a heavy 4-1 loss away at Bristol City but recent wins over Hull City away and a 1-0 home win over Brentford along with points against Reading and Aston Villa should give the visitors plenty of confidence of getting a result at Derby tonight.
It’s also just one defeat from Blackburn’s last six matches on the road in the Championship, so Tony Mowbray’s side have reason to believe they can take something from Pride Park this evening, especially with their talisman Bradley Dack (3 goals) amongst the goals.
However, the odds on the draw no bet option on Derby are too good for my betting tips to ignore.
