Derby County Prediction – Can Derby maintain unbeaten start?

Life after former manager, Frank Lampard, has pretty much stayed the same for Derby County who have made a solid start to their new Championship campaign and season in general as they head into Tuesday night’s encounter with Bristol City still undefeated in all competitions.

Derby County reached the play-off final in the Championship at the end of last season only to suffer an agonising 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa at Wembley, but although various personnel have since left the club, The Rams have made a good start to this new term.

An opening day 2-1 win away from home at recently relegated Huddersfield Town set Derby on their way and they’ve since gained points in 0-0 and 2-2 draws with Swansea City and Stoke City respectively.

In between times, The Rams have also registered a 1-0 win away at Scunthorpe United in the League Cup, while on home turf at Pride Park, Derby County have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 9 matches which gives them a decent chance at gaining further points on Tuesday night.

Bristol City Prediction – Can Bristol City build on recent win?

In contrast, Bristol City have struggled somewhat in the opening stages of this new domestic season as The Robins only gained their first win of this campaign on Saturday afternoon when they recorded a much needed 2-0 home win against QPR.

A heavy 3-1 defeat at home to Leeds United on the opening day of the new Championship season at Ashton Gate wasn’t the start that Bristol City manager, Lee Johnson, would have envisaged and things got worse before their recent win.

They took a point away at Birmingham City in a 1-1 draw but then an early exit from the League Cup followed despite the scores remaining level at 3-3 at the end of normal time. The Robins were beaten on penalties to The R’s, but the west country club got their revenge very quickly.

The recent 2-0 win over QPR at Ashton Gate has steadied the ship a little, but Bristol City face a tough trip the east midlands on Tuesday night to face Derby County – a team that Bristol City haven’t beaten in their last 6 visits to Pride Park.

Key-Facts – Derby County v Bristol City

  • Derby County still remain unbeaten this season in all competitions
  • Derby County have suffered just 1 defeat out of their last 9 matches at home
  • Bristol City have failed to beat Derby in their last 6 visits to Pride Park

Betting Tips Verdict

Derby County have made a solid start under new manager, Philip Cocu while Bristol City will be looking to build upon Saturday’s win – Derby might just sneak this one.
