Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

The Championship returns on Friday night as Derby County look to bounce back from their recent defeat at Sheffield United, when they prepare for the visit of Hull City at their iPro Stadium.

Derby fell to a heavy 3-1 defeat against The Blades at Bramall Lane last time out before the international break, and Gary Rowett’s side have had time to re-group ahead of this televised clash against The Tigers.

A mixed start to the new season has seen The Rams win two, draw one and lose two as they sit in a mid-table position, but they’ve played just twice on home turf so far, collecting a win over Preston North End but losing to Wolves. Rowett has a plethora of attacking options at his disposal with the likes of Russell, Nugent, Vydra and Martin as well as bolstering his midfield with the recent acquisition of Kieftenbeld from Birmingham City.

Visitors Hull City managed to halt a three-game losing streak last time out when they registered a heavy 4-0 home win over Bolton Wanderers prior to the break, but they’ll be in for a tough encounter in the east midlands on Friday night I daresay.

Before their much-needed win over Bolton, Hull had succumbed to three defeats on the trot with losses to Wolves and QPR in the Championship, along with a League Cup defeat away at League One outfit, Doncaster Rovers.

The Tigers currently occupy eighth place in the English second tier, but this position is largely thanks to two wins from their three home matches to date with wins over Burton Albion and Bolton. However, a look at their results away from home haven’t been so convincing as they’ve drawn at Aston Villa, but lost at QPR.

But with the likes of Bowen (4 goals) and Hernandez (3 goals) up front, Hull should be in with a chance of hitting the back of the net tonight.
