Derby County Prediction

Derby County currently occupy 7th place in the Championship and trail 6th placed Bristol City by just two points, so a win on Wednesday night against Millwall would see Frank Lampard’s side leapfrog Bristol City into the last remaining play-off spot.

Recent form has been solid enough for The Rams as the hosts are unbeaten in their last four matches overall which includes wins against Reading and Hull City winning 2-1 and 2-0 respectively, both of which were at home, while gaining points on the road at Preston North End and Ipswich Town in 0-0 and 1-1 draws.

Derby have lost just once in their last seven matches overall which was a 2-0 loss at Leeds United, but form at their Pride Park ground has been solid all season with a record of 8-5-2 22/15 to date which includes just one defeat from their last 14 matches on home soil.

Midfielder Wilson (10 goals) and forward Marriott (7 goals) look the most likely for the hosts here.

Key-Facts – Derby County v Millwall

  • Derby County have lost just 1 of their last 14 matches at Pride Park
  • Millwall have managed just one away win all season
  • Millwall have kept just 1 clean sheet from their 15 away matches

Millwall Prediction

Millwall continue to hover just above the relegation zone and flirt with the bottom three, being just two league positions and two points above third from bottom club Rotherham United as The Lions have balanced Championship survival with a decent run in the FA Cup which has seen them progress through to the quarter-finals.

Millwall booked their place in the last eight of the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 win away at League One basement dwellers AFC Wimbledon on the weekend, but having now gone five league matches without a win in recent weeks, Millwall manager, Neil Harris will now turn his attentions to avoiding relegation.

Millwall had put together a three-match winning run prior to these five matches without success with wins against Reading, Nottingham Forest and Ipswich Town, but two of these victories were against teams battling relegation along with Millwall, and the visitors have since returned to type.

Millwall have managed just one away win all season amidst a poor record of 1-4-10 14/27 which was a 3-2 win at bottom club Ipswich Town, but overall it’s been a poor campaign especially on their travels where they’ve kept just one clean sheet all season.

Betting Tips Verdict

This should be a straightforward Derby win here but perhaps use the handicap for insurance.
