Derby County Prediction

Derby County head into this important Monday night clash having won three of their last four matches overall in the Championship with recent victories chalked up against Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea City and Wigan Athletic which has helped Frank Lampard’s side into 5th place and a play-off position.

Derby have lost just once in their last nine matches on home turf which was a surprising heavy 3-0 defeat to Aston Villa, but with 6 wins from these last 9 have assisted The Rams to hold a decent looking home record of 6-2-2 16/12.

Midfielders Wilson (7 goals) and Lawrence (4 goals) have provided valuable goal support for forwards Marriott (6 goals) and Nugent (2 goals), and The Rams have scored in 8 of their 10 home matches to date.

Goals have never been far away when Derby play at home, and the hosts will fancy their chances of putting one over their bitter rivals this Monday evening too.

Nottingham Forest Prediction

Nottingham Forest’s seven match unbeaten run in the Championship came to an abrupt end last weekend when they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Preston North End, so Aitor Karanka’s side will be desperate to bounce back against their old foes Derby County on Monday night.

Wins over Bolton Wanderers, Sheffield United, Hull City and Ipswich Town had helped Nottingham Forest to within touching distance of the play-off pack, and although they’ve dropped to 7th place in the league table, they’re just two points behind 6th placed Middlesbrough.

Forest’s away record stands at 3-6-1 19/13 and the visitors are unbeaten in their last seven matches on their travels which includes wins at Middlesbrough, Bolton Wanderers and Hull City as well as picking up points at Swansea City, Blackburn Rovers, Leeds United and an extraordinary 5-5 draw at Aston Villa.

Forest have also scored in 9 of their 10 away matches so far this season, so with the likes of prolific striker Grabban (14 goals) and Lolley (6 goals) up front, the visitors will be confident they can get something out of this crucial clash.

Betting Tips Verdict

This is a local derby and the result could go either way, but I’m confident both teams will hit the back of the net in this one.
