Derby County take on bottom half outfit, QPR at the iPro Stadium on Tuesday night as the hosts look to return to winning ways following a couple of frustrating results in the Championship.
A 4-2 loss at home to Reading was followed by a 1-1 draw away at Fulham but they have a good chance of gaining all three points against QPR this evening, who are still yet to register their first away win of the season in the English second tier.
Derby’s home record stands at 4-1-2 13/7 and prior to the Reading defeat, The Rams had registered wins over Preston North End, Hull City, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday in addition to failing to score at home just once in the Championship to date, and keeping four clean sheets.
Onto QPR, and they suffered a second defeat on the trot on the weekend when they went down to a 2-1 defeat at home to Aston Villa, which followed on from a heavy 4-0 loss away at Nottingham Forest just before the international break.
QPR had previously recorded back-to-back wins over the top two clubs in the Championship with victories over Wolves 2-1 and a 1-0 win over Sheffield United, but both of these wins were achieved at Loftus Road where much of The R’s success this season has come.
It’s a very different story away from home though for QPR as their record of 0-4-4 7/15 indicates, and indeed, you have to go all the way back to February this year when they last recorded an away win which was a 4-1 thumping of Birmingham City at St Andrews. Since then, QPR have endured a 15 match sequence without an away win in the Championship.
