Derby County Preview – Can the Rams extend impressive unbeaten home run?

Only Manchester United – in the Emirates FA Cup – have won at Pride Park in 2020. Phillip Cocu’s Derby County have not suffered a league defeat on home soil since Millwall ran away with a 1-0 win in mid-December. The Rams have won six and drawn two of eight at Pride Park in league action since then.

Derby have had an up and down season thus far, but they are making a late dash for the play-offs. Led by veteran Wayne Rooney, the Rams have moved to within a whisker of the top six. In midweek, a Rooney goal gave County a 1-0 win at fellow promotion hopefuls Preston North End at Deepdale.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score – No

Derby and rivals Forest have had several ding-dong battles at Pride Park over the years and, with so much at stake, this is set to be another enthralling encounter between the pair. Can Cocu’s men continue their excellent form with a massive three points on Saturday?

Nottingham Forest Preview – Will Forest leave Pride Park with a colossal three points?

After going three games without a Championship win, Nottingham Forest picked up a precious three points at the City Ground last Sunday, beating struggling Huddersfield Town. They followed that up with a vital 1-0 victory over Lee Johnson’s Bristol City on Wednesday evening.

With just six games to go, Nottingham Forest are well and truly in the play-off mix. The Reds sit fourth with 67 points to their name. Sabri Lamouchi was somewhat of an unknown entity among the Forest fans when he first arrived, but the Frenchman had done a superb job at the City Ground, turning himself into a real favourite with the supporters. Lamouchi will be even more popular if he can guide the Reds to the promised land at the end of this season.

With Derby improving so much in the second half of the season, Forest head to Pride Park as the underdogs. However, Lamouchi’s men will back themselves to get the job done on enemy soil.

Derby County vs Nottingham Forest Betting Advice

Nottingham Forest have already beaten Derby twice this season. Goals from Albert Adomah, Joe Lolley and Joao Carvalho gave them a 3-0 home win in a Carabao Cup fixture back in August. A few months later, a Lewis Grabban goal was enough for a narrow 1-0 victory at the City Ground.

Key Facts – Derby County vs Nottingham Forest Betting Tip

  • Derby are unbeaten at Pride Park in the Championship in 2020
  • Nottingham Forest have beaten Derby twice already this season
  • Forest have lost only one of the last seven league and cup meetings

This derby fixture really could go either way at Pride Park, but my money is going on the away win at 21/10. Also, have a punt on the prolific Grabban to score the opening goal of this one at the tempting odds of 5/1.
