Derby to take early lead and build against beleaguered Bolton

Championship Tips

DERBY COUNTY v BOLTON WANDERERS

Saturday 9th April 2016 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Derby County continued their resurgence during midweek with a resounding 4-0 home win over fourth placed Hull City as The Rams held onto sixth place and the last remaining play-off spot in the Championship.

They’ll now be looking to post back-to-back wins as they prepare for the visit of beleaguered Bolton Wanderers to their iPro Stadium having won their last four home matches on the trot with wins against Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest (in the east midlands local derby) and of course Hull City.

Derby made a slow start to their campaign, but they’ve been gaining momentum recently at just the right time of the season, and striker Chris Martin (15 goals) is the most likely anytime goalscorer for the hosts today.

Visitors Bolton Wanderers are virtually dead and buried as they sit bottom of the Championship and 17 points adrift of Rotherham United and safety with just six league matches remaining of the season. Defeat this afternoon would confirm their relegation down to League One for next season.

It’s been a disastrous campaign for The Trotters who are still without an away win this term with a very poor away record of  0-4-16  15/48 with confidence having drained away some time ago I daresay as Bolton have lost their last five away matches on the trot.

Defeats away at Brighton, Birmingham City, Leeds United, Bristol City and Brentford (with the exception of Brighton), have not been against the best sides in the division and the trip to Derby today could well end in defeat as well.
