Fourth placed Djurgarden will play host to mid-table club, Hacken, at their Tele2 Arena with the home side looking to take all three points in order to keep up with the likes of Hammarby and Norrkoping in Sunday’s Allsvenskan clash.
Current form suggests that the hosts could be in with a good shout of claiming the spoils in this encounter having put together an impressive six-match unbeaten run which includes wins against Dalkurd, Orebro, IFK Gothenborg, Sirius and Kalmar.
This upturn in results has helped lift Djurgarden into Europa League contention, and with a home record of 3-2-1 9/4 under their belts as well as three clean sheets, they’ll be tough to break down on Sunday afternoon. Forward, Kadewere (8 goals) is their leading goalscorer.
Onto Hacken, and although they progressed through to the second qualifying round of the Europa League in midweek, they were made to sweat in the second leg at their Bravida Arena in Gothenborg when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to Latvian side, Liepaja.
Hacken went through 4-2 on aggregate, but they’ve now suffered back-to-back defeats coming into Sunday’s clash as they’d earlier lost 2-1 away at Norrkoping in the Allsvenskan in the match prior to the Europa League defeat.
The visitors still remain unbeaten on home turf this season, but their results away from home have prevented Hacken from climbing further up the Allsvensan league table as they currently hold a disappointing away record of 1-1-5 5/10.
Four defeats in their last five road trips have been inflicted upon them by IFK Gothenborg, Malmo, Ostersunds and the aforementioned Norrkoping.
