Austria’s Dominic Thiem has been the instigator of one of the biggest upsets of the tournament. He took down last year’s losing finalist Rafael Nadal in the quarter finals.

Thiem getting better and better in Melbourne
Austria’s Dominic Thiem had never been past the fourth round of the Australian Open prior to this campaign. He is now on the brink of what would be his third Grand Slam final. The previous two both happened at the French Open which he lost against Rafael Ndaal.
Thiem took some revenge over the great Spaniard in the quarter finals of this campaign. In total, it has only been the one set that he has dropped at Melbourne Park this year. In the form of Thiem, it will be the first top-ten player that he has faced in the tournament so far.
