Doncaster and Bradford to score in Yorkshire clash

Football – England – League One Betting Tips

There’s just the one fixture in League One on Monday night, but nevertheless, an important one, as it features a south versus west Yorkshire clash between home side, Doncaster Rovers, and visitors, Bradford City, at the Keepmoat Stadium, with both teams searching for three points for different reasons.

It’s been a difficult campaign for Doncaster this season in League One as the hosts have struggled to find any sort of consistency in their results, and this is evident when looking at recent matches where they’ve beaten Fleetwood Town 3-0 (at home) but have also suffered defeats to Walsall and Rotherham, although the latter two were both away from home.

However, Doncaster possess a reasonable looking home record for a team that sits in 17th place on the league ladder with stats of  6-7-4  25/19, and they come into this encounter having lost just once in their last nine on home turf, which includes wins over MK Dons, Northampton Town, Rochdale and Fleetwood Town. Incidentally, Doncaster have scored in 13 of their 17 home matches to date.

Visitors, Bradford City, have been on a rough run of results themselves which has seen them plummet down the league table where they now occupy a mid-table position, after having promised so much in the earlier stages of the campaign, with Bradford being talked about as potential play-off candidates.

Bradford are now without a win from their last nine overall on League One, a run that ultimately cost former manager, Stuart McCall his job, but all is not lost for The Bantams as all three points in Monday night’s clash would lift them up into 8th place above Portsmouth, and just four points adrift of 6th placed Plymouth Argyle.

Bradford have also performed better away from home than at Valley Parade as well, with a record of  9-3-6  27/24, so they’ll be reasonably confident they can get a result here.

Doncaster are still not out of the woods yet in terms of relegation, while Bradford need to kick-start their play-off push – I can see both teams scoring here.
