Dover Athletic returned to winning ways last Saturday when they recorded a 3-1 home win over Chester and they once again have home advantage at their Perry Crabbles Stadium this Saturday afternoon when they take on Wrexham.
Dover had recently suffered back-to-back defeats to Macclesfield Town and Lincoln City, but it should be noted that both of these losses were against top half opposition and away from home, but they’ve been pretty steady on home turf throughout this campaign to date.
Dover possess a home record which stands at 9-2-4 35/23 and they’ve lost just once in their last six at home which was a 2-1 defeat to second placed Dagenham & Redbridge. During this period though, they’ve registered wins over Guiseley, Woking and Chester. Attacking trio Miller (27 goals), Lafayette (10 goals) and Emmanuel (11 goals) should provide the home side with plenty of firepower.
Visitors Wrexham head into their encounter with Dover Athletic on the back of a useful five-match unbeaten run as they make their way down to the south east of England for this clash. Wins over Woking, North Ferriby, Boreham Wood and Guiseley have lifted The Dragons into the top half of the non-league top flight, but they’ll need to improve upon their distinctly average away record which stands at 2-5-8 12/25.
It’s now eight matches without a win away from home for Wrexham, whose last success on their travels was a 1-0 win at Boreham Wood back in October, but they’ve since fallen to defeats at Tranmere Rovers, Lincoln City, Sutton United and Southport.
