Friday night brings us one fixture from the Scottish Premiership with Dundee taking on Aberdeen at Dens Park with the hosts looking to continue their recent upturn in form.
A 0-0 draw at home with Kilmarnock has been followed up with back-to-back wins over Rangers and Ross County, so the hosts will be in fairly confident mood ahead of the visit from Aberdeen here. However, there’s no guarantees of maximum points here as Dundee’s home form has been inconsistent so far this season.
A record of 3-2-3 10/11 tells its own story, and although they’ve recently chalked up wins over Hearts and Rangers, they’ve also slipped up against Motherwell and Hamilton Academicals. Perhaps a better indicator is the fact that they’ve kept just one clean sheet from their last 16 at home, and the last meeting between these two sides at Dens Park ended up in a 7-0 rout in favour of Aberdeen.
Onto Aberdeen, and they come into this Friday night clash in the Scottish top flight knowing that all three poInts here would lift them above Rangers into second spot and just four points behind league leaders, Celtic, ahead of this weekend’s action.
However, The Dons are also not guaranteed to take the spoils here as they’ve lost three of their last four as they’ve slumped to losses against Motherwell and home and away matches against Rangers.
With pressure mounting on them at Pittodrie, playing away on Friday night might actually suit Aberdeen who possess a solid away record of 5-2-1 13/10, but as this is a Friday night fixture, I recommend backing the away side and give the quarter ball handicap.
