Dunfermilne – Can Pars bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to boost survival hopes?
Last weekend’s defeat away to Inverness was a blow to Dunfermilne’s chance of staying in the Championship but they have a chance heading into the final Fife derby of the season to move six points clear of bottom club Queen of the South with four more to play. A win would also move them to within a couple of points of Ayr and in with a good chance of moving out the relegation playoff spot, particularly as they play the team directly above them later on this month.
John Hughes won’t be thinking that far ahead, however, only concentrating on getting a vital win here against one of his former clubs. And one which he has the unhappiest spell of his managerial career at.
Raith Rovers Preview – Are Raith set to build on cup success as they strive to finish in the promotion playoffs?
In a season which has been blighted by off the park controversy and pretty inconsistent form in the league, Sunday was a ray of light for Raith Rovers following their triumph in the Scottish Challenge Cup. A 3-1 win over Championship rivals Queen of the South ensured Rovers won the competition for the third time in their history.
John McGlynn will be delighted with the victory in itself but will also be hoping that it can spur his team on to improve their fortunes in the league. Rovers are currently fifth in the table but could go level on points with fourth place Thistle in the race for the last promotion playoff spot.

Rovers up and down form was never more apparent than in their last league game. Having raced into a 3-1 lead away to title challengers Arbroath, Raith ended up hanging on for a point after conceding two second half goals. Their form on the road will give them some encouragement heading to East End Park tomorrow with just one defeat in their last five. Four of those have come against teams in the top six, too.
The attacking trio of Aidan Connolly, Dario Zanatta and Matej Poplatnik have combined for 21 goals in the league already this season with the last name of that group hitting five in his last four.
Dunfermilne vs Raith Rovers Betting Advice
This is a proper local derby with plenty of rivalry between the two clubs. In terms of the meetings between the clubs this season there has been absolutely nothing to separate them with each of them ending in draws and just a total of four goals scored in those games.
Without doubt, this is the most important of the games with Dunfermilne looking to strike a massive blow in the battle to avoid the drop and Rovers hoping to improve their chances of promotion via the playoffs. Add on the bragging rights and it is a huge clash.
Key Facts – Dunfermilne vs Raith Rovers Betting Tip
- Dunfermilne have won the fewest games of any Championship teams so far this season (five)
- Raith have lost just one of their last five away in the league
- All three of the meetings so far this season have ended in draws
With 10 of the last 13 games between the two going under 2.5 goals that looks to be a sound bet on this occasion with little to choose between the teams this term and the atmosphere bound to be tense.
