Dynamo Kiev find themselves having to chase this 2nd leg tie in the round of 16 in the Europa League against Chelsea as they trail the London Premier League club by a 3-0 scoreline ahead of this 2nd leg at their NSK Olimpijs’kyj as the betting tips continue on Thursday night.

Europa League Betting at Marathonbet

Dynamo Kiev Prediction

Dynamo Kiev were handed a heavy defeat by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in last week’s 1st leg which has been their only defeat from their last eight matches in all competitions, although thre of these matches were club friendlies during the Ukraine domestic winter break.

Nonetheless, Dynamo Kiev have won four of their last six matches with wins against Zorya, Desna and Arsenal Kiev in the Ukraine Premier League as well as 1-0 home win over Greek side, Olympiakos, in the previous round.

With just two defeats from their last 16 home ties in the Europa League, the hosts seem to be in good shape to at least avoid defeat here, but that’s not the question that Chelsea are posing here; can Dynamo Kiev record a 4-0 home win and keep a clean sheet against The Blues?

The answer is that Dynamo Kiev have managed this scoreline just once out of their 39 home matches in this competition to date (4-0 versus Besiktas back in 2011), but they’ll be hard pressed to repeat those heroics against Chelsea here on Thursday night.

Key-Facts – Dynamo Kiev v Chelsea

  • Dynamo Kiev have recorded a 4-0 win just once in their 39 home ties
  • Chelsea are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions
  • Chelsea have won 5 of their last 6 away matches in the Europa League

Chelsea Prediction

Following their calamitous and controversial League Cup final defeat to Manchester City, Chelsea have put together a much more respectable four match run without defeat ahead of their trip to Kiev for this 2nd leg in Ukraine.

Wins against Tottenham and Fulham along with a draw against Wolves in the Premier League along with the resounding 3-0 win over Thursday night’s opponents, Dynamo Kiev in the 1st leg of this round of 16 tie places Maurizio Sarri’s side in a solid position here.

With midfielder Barkley one yellow card away from suspension and forward Higuain suffering from illness, these two players are unlikely to feature here while Sarri may re-shuffle his pack as they have the rare luxury of resting a few of their first choice players.

Nonetheless, striker Giroud (6 goals) and Willian (3 goals, 5 assists) should feature here, and as Chelsea have won five of their last six away matches in the Europa League, the visitors should easily at least avoid defeat here, if not record another win over the Ukraine outfit.

Betting Tips Verdict

Dynamo Kiev have to go for broke here, and it’s only the likelihood that Sarri will play a few fringe players here that prevents me from backing Chelsea for the straight win in this 2nd leg.
