There’s just the one match being played in the Spanish top flight on Monday night but nonetheless an important fixture as Eibar take on Espanyol as the betting tips continue at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa with both teams needing all three points for different reasons.

La Liga Betting at Marathonbet

Eibar Prediction

Eibar sit in 16th place on the La Liga ladder and are just three points above the relegation zone as they prepare for the visit of mid-table outfit Espanyol to their Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa, but the hosts come into this encounter having lost just once in their last five matches overall.

The hosts suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat away at La Liga leaders, Barcelona last weekend but they’d previously strung together a four-match unbeaten run which consisted of four draws on the trot with stalemates against Levante, Valencia, Real Betis and Villarreal.

Although Eibar are without an actual league win for six matches, these draws meant that the hosts were still picking up points and as a result, kept their heads above water and away from immediate danger of the relegation dogfight that’s being fought below them.

But it’s Eibar’s home record that is the positive aspect of the home side’s season so far with stats of 4-4-2 16/13 which includes an unbeaten run on home turf of six matches which includes a 3-0 thumping of Real Madrid no less.

Key-Facts – Eibar v Espanyol

  • Eibar are unbeaten in their last 6 matches at home
  • Eibar have lost just once in their last 5 matches overall
  • Espanyol have lost 7 of their last 8 league matches

Espanyol Prediction

Espanyol sit mid-table in La Liga and find themselves seven points adrift of 6th placed Getafe who occupy the last remaining European spot which is the Europa League qualifier berth, but a win tonight at Eibar could see them jump into 7th place and just four points adrift of Getafe.

However, seven defeats from their last eight matches overall in the Spanish top flight has really held the visitors back from making an impact upon the top six in the division as the rot appears to have well and truly set in for Espanyol.

Espanyol’s dramatic slump in form has also had a negative effect on their results away from home too as they’ve picked up just one win on their travels all season amidst an overall poor record of 1-3-6 10/16 with their home form being the only reason that they’re in a mid-table position at all.

The visitors have lost their last four on the trot on the road with losses at Sevilla, Getafe, Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad, and even though they’re up against bottom half opposition in the shape of Eibar this evening, they’ll do well to avoid a fifth straight loss on the road I fancy.

Betting Tips Verdict

Eibar have been solid on home turf and I’ll back them with the draw no bet option here.
