England Prediction

It’s been a fairly impressive and solid nine-month period for England who reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Russia only to be knocked out by Croatia in extra-time, but then got their revenge on the Croats in the subsequent UEFA Nations League when they topped Group 4 in League A, drawing 0-0 away and then beating Croatia 2-1 at Wembley during the group stages.

England lost just once in their group which was a 2-1 loss to Spain, but bounced back with a point away at Croatia before recording back-to-back wins against Spain (away) and at home to Croatia to top their group.

In between their Nations League schedule, England have also recorded wins against Switzerland and USA 1-0 and 3-0 respectively in international friendlies, and they’re unbeaten in their last 14 matches on home turf in all competitions which gives England a very good chance of getting their Euro 2020 qualifiers campaign off to a good start.

During this 14-match period, England have kept a total of 9 clean sheets which displays their solid defensive unit under Southgate.

Key-Facts – England v Czech Republic

  • England are unbeaten in their last 14 matches at home in all competitions
  • These two teams last met 10 years ago and the match ended in a 2-2 draw
  • Czech Republic have suffered heavy defeats at Australia and Russia

Czech Republic Prediction

Czech Republic remained in League B of the recent UEFA Nations League competition after being pipped at the post by Group 1 winners, Ukraine, for promotion up to League A despite recording a 1-0 home win over Slovakia in their final match of the group stages.

The visitors produced mixed results during the group stage as they registered home and away wins over bottom nation Slovakia, winning 2-1 away from home and 1-0 at their Generali Arena in Prague, but it was the home and away losses to Ukraine which prevented them from gaining promotion, as Ukraine proved too strong for their opponents.

Overall form has seen Czech Republic win three of their last four matches in all competitions with an additional victory chalked up over Poland 1-0 away in an international friendly, but they’ve produced mixed and inconsistent results away from home in recent times.

Wins away at China, Nigeria, Slovakia and Poland have been offset by heavy defeats at Australia 4-0 and Russia 5-1 in friendlies along with the 1-0 loss away at Ukraine in the Nations League.

Betting Tips Verdict

England will look upon this fixture as a game they should win and considering their solid defensive unit, a win to nil looks to be on the cards here.
