Roberto Martinez’s men travel to Tallinn this Thursday to face Thomas Haberli’s Estonia in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The in-form Red Devils are the overwhelming favourites in this one, with the bookies pricing the away win at just 1/20. The Belgians will be hoping to stretch their legs at the top of the Group E table. As for the Estonians, they are still looking for their first point of the campaign. We have the best betting odds and tips.

Estonia Preview – Can the Blueshirts cause an almighty upset?

Estonia kick-started their 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a poor 6-2 loss to Czech Republic. Despite taking an early lead, they were blown away by the Czechs in Lublin, with Jaroslav Silhavy’s troops scoring four goals in the first period.

Estonia followed that up with another disappointing defeat. They took the lead again, but Belarus ran out 4-2 winners at the Dinamo Stadium in Minsk. The Blueshirts are the only side in Group E yet to pick up a point.

Estonia head into this one having won three on the spin, seeing off Lithuania, Finland and Latvia in friendlies. However, they could be on the wrong end of a cricket score if Belgium are on song on Thursday.

Belgium Preview – Easy three points for the Red Devils?

This will be Belgium’s first game since the UEFA Euro 2020 defeat to Italy back in July. Before that loss, the Red Devils had won 11 and drawn two of 13 since a UEFA Nations League reverse to England way back in October 2020.

The Belgians kicked off the World Cup qualifiers with a 3-1 home win over Wales at Den Dreef back in March. However, in game two, Belgium were held to a 1-1 draw by Czech Republic at the Sinobo Stadium in Prague. Belgium got back to winning ways in style on matchday three, though, thumping Belarus 8-0 in Leuven.

Belgium will want top spot and automatic qualification to next year’s World Cup in Qatar. In truth, Roberto Martinez’s men should be far too strong for Estonia on Thursday. The away victory is available at just 1/20.

Estonia vs Belgium Betting Advice

These two nations squared off in 2018 World Cup qualifying, with Belgium winning both games. In the process, the Belgians scored ten and shipped just one. However, Estonia picked up a 2-0 victory in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers back in October 2009.

Key Facts – Estonia vs Belgium Betting Tip

  • In 2018 World Cup qualifying, Belgium scored ten goals in two meetings with Estonia
  • The Belgians have taken seven points from a possible nine
  • The Estonians have zero points to their name in Group E

Belgium have picked up several sizeable victories under Martinez, and we could see another one on Thursday. The contrast in quality between the two sides is huge, and we like the look of Belgium to win both halves at 8/15.

Martinez’s men failed to keep a clean sheet in their opening two, with both Wales and Czech Republic breaching their defence. Still, they stopped Belarus from scoring in the 8-0 romp in Leuven back in March. Back Belgium to win to nil again on Thursday at 1/3.
