Everton Prediction

Although they registered a much needed 2-1 win over League Two outfit Lincoln City in last weekend’s FA Cup 3rd round, Everton have not had the best of times in recent weeks as The Toffees have lost four of their last five matches and have won just once in their last eight overall in the top flight.

That solitary win came in a crushing 5-1 thrashing over Fulham at Craven Cottage but defeats to Manchester City, Tottenham, Brighton and Leicester City – the latter two being particularly hard to take, means that the blue side of merseyside sit in the mid-table position of 11th place instead of closer to the top six.

Marco Silva’s side are without a home win from their last four matches while their overall record at Goodison Park now reads 5-3-3 18/16, but they’ll be confident they can get something from this clash as Bournemouth aren’t the best travellers in the division.

One thing in Marco Silva and Everton’s favour though is that he has a fully fit squad to choose from and with the likes of Sigurdsson (8 goals) and Richarlison (9 goals) in their attacking personnel, the hosts stand a good chance of returning to winning ways here.

Key-Facts – Everton v Bournemouth

    • Everton have a clean bill of health ahead of today’s match
    • Everton have failed to score just once in their 11 home matches this season
    • Bournemouth have lost their last 5 away matches on the trot

Bournemouth Prediction

Bournemouth sit level on points with Everton but sit in 12th place due to a slightly inferior goal difference as they make the long trek up to merseyside to face an apparently wobbling Everton outfit.

Bournemouth have captured eight wins so far in this Premier League season with 5 of them coming at their Vitality Stadium, but they suffered defeat last weekend when they were beaten 3-1 by Brighton in the 3rd round of the FA Cup which became Bournemouth’s third defeat in their last four matches in all competitions.

Eddie Howe’s side are well known though for their resilience and ability to bounce back when faced with adversity, but The Cherries have managed to register just 2 wins from their last 11 matches overall in the top flight.

These victories both came at home with wins against Huddersfield Town and Brighton while their away record reads 3-0-7 12/23 and includes losing their last five matches on the trot on the road with losses at Newcastle United, Manchester City, Wolves, Tottenham and Manchester United in what, admittedly, was a tough run of fixtures.

Betting Tips Verdict

Although Everton’s recent form has been poor, Bournemouth’s run of defeats away from home have been worse; I’ll back Everton here but I advise using the handicap.
