Everton sit in 9th place at the moment as we head into November and the home fans are relatively satisfied so far this season as their side appear to be more positive in going forward than in previous seasons – manager, Marco Silva appears to have done a good job of winning over the Everton faithful but it remains to be seen if they can continue their good start.
The Toffees will be looking forward to returning to Goodison following last week’s 2-1 loss away at Manchester United, and although they’ve been ordinary away from home, their record at Goodison stands at a healthier 3-1-1 9/5 which includes wins over Southampton, Fulham and Crystal Palace.
Former Watford forward, Richarlison (4 goals) leads the way and is supported by Walcott, Calvert-Lewin and Tosun (2 goals apiece).
Brighton sit two league places but just one point adrift of today’s hosts, Everton, as The Seagulls have also enjoyed a pretty reasonable start to their new top flight campaign as Chris Hughton’s side currently occupy 11th spot.
The south coast side finished last season with a seven point cushion between themselves and relegated Swansea City who finished third from bottom at the end of the last campaign – Hughton will be aware though that it was Brighton’s home form at the AMEX Stadium which kept them up last term.
A similar pattern seems to be unfolding again where Brighton are concerned as three of their four wins to date have been registered on home turf, while away from home, Brighton possess a fairly ordinary record of 1-1-3 3/7.
That said, they come into this clash having won their last three on trot overall with wins against West Ham, Newcastle United and Wolves.
My betting tips suggest a stiffer test awaits them at Goodison Park on Saturday though.
