Everton Prediction

Let’s take a look at Everton first, and The Toffees now sit in a disappointing 12th place in the Premier League after posting just one win from their last six matches overall in the top flight which was a comfortable 3-0 win away at relegation threatened Cardiff City.

However, recent defeats to Wolves, Manchester City, Watford and Newcastle United have seen Marco Silva’s side slowly slide down the league table where they’re now worse off than when former manager Sam Allardyce was in charge – hope the demonstrations by the Everton fans to get rid of Big Sam was all worth it!

With just one win posted at Goodison Park from their last eight matches, Everton manager Marco Silva could well be living on borrowed time as the Everton ‘faithful’ are a hard bunch to please and can’t seem to grasp the reality that their side aren’t a top six outfit, nor do they play champagne football like the Brazil of old.

Everton’s home record stands at an ordinary looking 6-4-5 21/21 and although they’ve lost 5 of their 15 home matches by 2 or more goals, we should see a concerted effort from the hosts here as they might fancy their chances of upsetting a fragile Chelsea unit here.

Key-Facts – Everton v Chelsea

  • Everton have won just 1 of their last 8 home matches
  • Chelsea have recently lost 3 away matches on the trot
  • Chelsea have beaten Everton by 2+ goals just once in their last 4 visits

Chelsea Prediction

Onto Chelsea, and the visitors will still no doubt be basking in their glorious 5-0 romp away at Dynamo Kiev during the week in the 2nd leg of their Europa League tie against the Ukraine club as Chelsea recorded a comfortable 8-0 win on aggregate over the two-legged affair.

Following their League Cup final debacle, Chelsea have shrugged off their differences and have embarked upon a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions which includes wins against Tottenham and Fulham in the Premier League and the two wins over Dynamo Kiev in the Europa League.

The Blues were also held by Wolves though in a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge which has seen the London club slip out of the European positions in the top flight, so they’ll be keen to record a valuable three points here in order to stay pace with Manchester United, and indeed, 4th placed Arsenal.

Results haven’t all gone Chelsea’s way though in recent weeks as the visitors have lost at Arsenal, Bournemouth and Manchester City which saw Maurizio Sarri’s side concede a total of 12 goals during that dark period, but they did bounce back with a 2-1 win at Fulham last time out on the road.

Betting Tips Verdict

Everton need to pull their collective socks up and should be able to at the very least avoid a heavy defeat here.
