With two league matches remaining of the season, Everton can finish level on points with seventh placed Burnley and this would be no mean feat for Sam Allardyce’s men when you compare their current league standing to when he took over the reigns at Goodison Park back in November with Everton in 13th place.

I wonder if Everton fans would be happy if their club got relegated but had played ‘champagne football’?
Onto Southampton, and the south coast club ended a run of eight matches without a win in the Premier League last time out when they secured a vital 2-1 win over south coast rivals, Bournemouth, which has handed Mark Hughes’s side a crucial top flight lifeline.
Southampton have three league matches remaining to save themselves from relegation down to the Championship but face a tough trip to merseyside as The Saints have managed just two away wins on their travels all season.
Recent defeats at Newcastle United, West Ham and Arsenal have ensured a nervous end to Southampton’s season, while their away record overall stands at a poor 2-7-8 15/29. A lack of goals could be a concern for them here as Saints have failed to score in 7 of their 17 away matches to date.
