Everton to see off poor West Ham at Goodison Park

EVERTON v WEST HAM

Next stop is Goodison Park on merseyside where Everton will play host to struggling West Ham as the betting tips continue in this Sunday afternoon instalment of the Premier League.

Everton have made a solid start to their new top flight campaign under new manager Marco Silva who replaced Sam Allardyce at The Toffees for the start of this season, and his side still remain unbeaten after the first four matches of the new term.

Points against Wolves, Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town in 2-2, 2-2 and 1-1 draws respectively were a good foundation to work from and the hosts also posted a 2-1 home win over Southampton.

Everton will no doubt be keen to continue to take advantage of a somewhat softish fixture schedule when they take on West Ham this afternoon, with the added incentive of pushing themselves up towards the top six if they take all three points in this clash.

Richarlison is suspended but The Toffees are expected to welcome back Walcott as he returns from injury.

Onto West Ham, and if Crystal Palace set a precedent after last season’s poor start which saw them dismiss former manager Frank de Boer after a poor start with no points from four matches, then West Ham’s new manager Manuel Pellegrini is surely walking the managerial tightrope.

The Hammers have lost all four of their top flight matches so far with defeats to Liverpool, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Wolves and have scored just 2 goals to date in this new campaign.

I’ve said it before. West Ham fans – be careful what you wish for. Former managers Sam Allardyce and David Moyes were both shown the door after fan unrest at the style of play that West Ham were playing under them, but they both kept the east end London outfit up in the Premier League.

Now, with perhaps a more illustrious name at the helm, they’re now fighting for their lives as they sit bottom of the table with a difficult trip to Everton ahead of them. Of course, a win would change everything, but my betting tips suggest Everton have the better mindset going into this encounter.
