English Premier League Betting at Betfair

Everton – Lampard appointment already looking foolish?

As one of six ever-presents during the Premier League era, these are incredibly anxious times for Everton football club. With mounting debts owing to a bloated, grossly underperforming squad, the prospect of playing outside England’s top division for the first time in 68 years is unthinkable, but not inconceivable. The midweek loss away at Burnley seeing the gap to the relegation places cut to a solitary point.

The Toffees have now suffered consecutive defeats, having also lost at West Ham, since beating Newcastle at Goodison Park with ten men. A run of four successive losses preceded that result. It leaves them with a record of two wins – both here on Merseyside – and seven defeats under Frank Lampard, who has so far failed to inspire a talented group seemingly lacking the necessary resolve and fight for a relegation scrap.

Key Stat: None of Everton’s past five Premier League home games has produced both teams scoring, with four of these contests finishing 1-0 (W2 L2).

Manchester United – Red Devils not out of top four equation?

Reports that Erik ten Hag is set to be announced as the next permanent Manchester United grow louder by the day. In the meantime, the team must ensure that whoever comes in, ten Hag or otherwise, inherits a side capable of challenging for the biggest honours. As things stand, however, this feels unlikely. The club on course to fall short of their bare minimum requirement of Champions League qualification.

Trailing Spurs in fourth by three points ahead of Saturday’s visit to Goodison, where they boast wins on each of their past two visits in league and cup, interim boss Ralf Rangnick will be only too aware that his team’s margin for error simply isn’t there. However, this is also a side with one win in its last four league outings (D2 L1). Moreover, it is only two wins from the last six Premier League away games (D3 L1).

Key Stat: Following last week’s 1-1 home draw with Leicester City, Manchester United have scored no more than once in 10 of 16 Premier League games since the appointment of Ralg Rangnick as interim manager in December.

Everton Vs Manchester United Betting Advice

Saturday’s battle between arguably the Premier League’s biggest underachievers this season is a fascinating prelude to Sunday’s epic tussle in Manchester, where the top two of Man City and Liverpool clash at the Eithad. Here at Goodison Park, relegation-threatened Everton go in search of only a third win in fifteen league outings (D1 L12). They host a Manchester United side with three league wins in eight (D4 L1).

Everton Vs Manchester United – Key Facts:

  • It is one win from the last six Premier League home games against Manchester United for Everton (W1 D2 L3). Last season’s corresponding fixture ended 3-1 to the visitors, Man Utd coming from 1-0 down to earn a 3-1 win.
  • Since Frank Lampard was appointed Everton manager in February, the team has collected six out of a possible 27 points (W2 L7). However, all six points were earned across four matches as hosts.
  • All of Manchester United’s six previous Premier League away games featured both teams scoring, while the Red Devils can lay claim to having found the net at least once in all 14 away league games this season.

As inconsistent as Man Utd have been on their travels, they do boast wins at Brentford and Leeds in 2022 – two sides better off in the table than Everton. Yet it is now six successive away games without a clean sheet for Rangnick’s men, who have found the net in all 14 Premier League away fixtures this term. I am expecting nothing less than a topsy-turvy encounter then, between two teams desperate for three points.
