Everton Preview – Toffees too strong for the Championship strugglers?
Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton head into this FA Cup clash having won four of their last five in all competitions. However, two days before Christmas, the Toffees were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Manchester United in the last eight. Also, on New Year’s Day, they lost 1-0 at home to West Ham United in the Premier League.
Everton currently find themselves in seventh place in the Premier League table. Their season has already thrown up plenty of ups and downs, but the Toffees would have surely taken seventh after 16 games at the start of the season. The Merseysiders are level on points with Tottenham Hotspur, who currently occupy the last UEFA Champions League spot.
Everton have lost four of their last six at Goodison, so Ancelotti and his troops will be desperate for a win on Saturday. The home victory is priced at 4/11.
Rotherham United Preview – Millers to fall at the first hurdle?
After gaining promotion back to the second tier as EFL League One runners-up last term, Rotherham United have found Championship life tough going thus far. The Millers are second from bottom, taking just 16 points from 20 matches. However, they do have games in hand on their rivals.
Paul Warne’s Rotherham have been in pretty atrocious form over the past couple of months or so. In fact, since a 2-1 home win over Preston North End on November 7th, United have gone on to lose seven of their following nine in the Championship.
