Exeter are already up and running in their title defence. The Chiefs took an easy win at Harlequins last weekend.

They are favourite for this home-soil contest this week as they host Bath.

Bath suffered a shock opening loss against the newly promoted Newcastle Falcons and this is a tough match in which to try and recover.

Exeter Chiefs Preview – Chiefs to double up?

Reigning Premiership and European champions Exeter picked up a win on the opening weekend of the new season.

Despite being held well at the half time break away at Harlequins, the Chiefs put on a power display in the second half of the fixture.

From a 7-3 half time lead, the Chiefs ended up winning the fixture 33-3.

They are the obvious favourites in the rugby betting match outright here at 1/14 odds* (odds taken 21:39 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

In last season’s league campaign, Exeter won eight of their eleven home fixtures, only coming off the gas at the end of the season when top spot had already been earned.

They are the ones to beat in this season’s top-flight once again and we don’t see it happening in this one.

In last seasons’ home fixture against Bath, the Chiefs romped to a 57-20 victory.

That’s a four-match home winning streak that they have going over the West Country club across all competitions.

Our betting prediction:
Exter 1-12 winnig margin
11/5

The victory at Harlequins last weekend gave Exeter a four-match winning streak in all competitions, since losing to Wasps back in early October.

Since February this year, Exeter have been beaten once only at Sandy Park, a meaningles 19-22 loss against London Irish in Round 21 of last season’s league campaign.

The head to head really bodes well for Exeter as well. They have lost one of their last eleven meetings with them in all competitions.

Bath Preview – Bath with an uphill task

Bath have not won at Sandy Park since 2016 and they are big underdogs in rugby betting for the weekend’s game.

That is a 7/1 underdog quote on them* (odds taken 21:39 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

Last weekend was a bust for Bath. They were playing host to the newly promoted Newclaste Falcons, a game which Bath were expected to comfortably win.

But they slipped up, falling to a 12-19 loss at the Rec. So somehow now they have to try and pick themselves up from that.

Looking at the away form of Bath from last season we see a W6 L5 record.

It was mostly in their tougher away assignments that Both came up short in.

In the rugby betting, a Bath +17 handicap is at 10/11, that’s how much of underdog the bookmakers perceive them to be* (odds taken 21:39 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

Bath have been beaten by at least 14 points in each of their last four defeats against Exeter. But we think that +17 handicap is reasonable value* (odds taken 21:39 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

Since beating Gloucester at the Rec back in September, Bath are now winless in three league fixtures.

So they have their backs against the wall a little bit.

Only on four occasions last season did Bath manage to score more than 22 points in an away fixture.

Unfortunately for them, we don’t see that being enough to beat Exeter at Sandy Park.

Exeter Chiefs vs Bath Betting Advice

Exeter displayed the amount of strength in depth that they have with last weekend’s demolition job over Harlequins.

That’s what they can do. Teams think that they are hanging in there against the Chiefs, then the Chiefs blitz their way to victory.

We have seen it time and time again. For this game though we think Bath stays within a respectable distance of them.

A Bath +17 handicap for 10/11 looks a viable rugby betting option* .(odds taken 21:39 GMT Wednesday, 25th November)

Key Facts – Exeter Chiefs vs Bath Betting Tip

  • Exeter Chiefs beat Harlequins 33-3 away from home last weekend
  • Exeter Chiefs have lost only 1 of their last 11 against Bath in all competitions
  • Bath lost to the newly promoted Necastle last weekend

Exeter rarely give up much at Sandy Park and we see a comfortable win happening for them, even if not at full strength because of international action.

A Chief’s 1-12 winning margin is a very nice quote of 11/5 to consider for rugby betting therefore* (odds taken 21:39 GMT Wednesday, 25th November).

Bath just don’t look as if they have enough to snap their poor run against them.
