Exeter to continue impressive run against Crewe

League One/Two Tips

EXETER CITY v CREWE ALEXANDRA

Saturday 16th September 2017 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

In-form Exeter City will play host to 10th placed Crewe Alexandra at St James’ Park in League Two on Saturday afternoon with the hosts chasing a sixth consecutive win on the trot.

Exeter have won their last five league matches on the trot which includes wins over Lincoln City, Cheltenham Town, Newport County, Forest Green Rovers and Barnet, with three of these victories being gained on the road.

Even a 3-1 defeat at home to Yeovil Town in the Football Trophy hasn’t de-railed their impressive start to the season as The Grecians still remain unbeaten in this new League Two season, and they head into Saturday’s clash with a three point lead at the top of the division. Exeter striker, Reuben Reid is in red-hot goalscoring form as he’s notched 7 goals to date already.

By contrast, visitors Crewe Alexandra have made a more modest start to their new league campaign as they occupy 10th place in the English fourth tier having made a more inconsistent start to the new season than their hosts.

Most of Crewe’s early season success has been achieved at Gresty Road where they’ve lost just once this season, which was a 1-0 loss to Cambridge United last time out on home turf. But wins over Barnet and Chesterfield have seen The Railwaymen make a solid start at home.

Results away from home though have been a very different story for Crewe who have lost four of their last five on their travels overall, and indeed, they’ve managed just four league wins from their last 17 outings on the road.

Exeter’s momentum should see them through here today.
