League One/Two Tips

EXETER CITY v LINCOLN CITY

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

The League Two semi-final play-off second legs get underway on Thursday night with Exeter City and Lincoln City locked at 0-0 following their first leg stalemate at Sincil Bank on the weekend.

The second leg now moves down to the west country where Exeter will have home advantage at their St James’ Park with The Grecians hoping they can use their more familiar surroundings to help them progress to the play-off final at Wembley.

Exeter come into this second leg in pretty solid form as they’ve lost just twice in their last 11 matches overall, and they finished the season with an overall home record of  15-4-4  34/19 which includes winning four of their last five on home soil with wins over Swindon Town, Cheltenham Town, Chesterfield and Colchester United.

The hosts will feel they have a real chance of extending their season here, particularly as they held Lincoln City to a draw away from home in the first leg. 13 of their 23 home matches resulted in under 2.5 goals, while overall, they kept a total of 10 clean sheets at St James’ Park.

Lincoln City may be rueing their 0-0 stalemate at Sincil Bank on the weekend as The Imps missed out on taking a valuable lead down to Exeter for this second leg, but the tie itself is still evenly poised for either side to grab the vital win here.

Lincoln have lost just twice in their last 13 matches overall, so they too have been a hard unit to break down but if they do possess a slight weakness, it may well manifest itself on this away trip as Lincoln’s results on the road in recent times have been inconsistent.

Recent defeats at Port Vale and Accrington Stanley threatened their play-off hopes, and although they achieved seventh place in the end, their away record of the season ended on an inconsistent  8-7-8  26/25.

15 of their 23 away matches resulted in under 2.5 goals, while overall, they kept a total of 8 clean sheets on their travels during their League Two campaign.

There doesn’t appear to be much to separate these sides, so I’ll go for the unders here.
