FC Slutsk Preview – Fortunate to still be at this level?

Better late than never at all for FC Slutsk last season. The club were dragged into the relegation mire in the closing stages after a miserable run of eight matches without recording a win, losing on six occasions, before rallying when it truly mattered to win their final two fixtures. They would eventually finish four points above the relegation play-off in eleventh (W9 D7 L14).

Slutsk were far from prolific in 2019. Three teams finished that campaign with more disappointing figures than their 29 scored from 30 games, which was slightly less than a goal per game, as they contrived to fail to hit the back of the opponent’s net on thirteen separate occasions. Points did flow more when at home, though, registering 1.27 points per game on their own patch (W5 D4 L6, GF14 GA22) compared to 1.00 when not.

However, anyone banking on the hosts delivering should bear in mind that of their last five home matches in the Belarusian Premier League, only one – their final day victory over mid-table Neman Grodno (2-1) – produced a winning outcome, drawing one and losing the other three. They would fail to even score in three of their last four on home soil.

Slavia Mozyr Preview – Unreliable away from home?

Unlike their opponents this coming Sunday, Slavia Mozyr concluded the previous league term without the need for any late anxiety as they comfortably fended off an earlier threat of relegation by finishing nestled in mid-table, in eighth (W10 D7 L13). Not that their campaign wasn’t without a slump or two, including a ten-game sequence between August and October which comprised of one solitary win over rock-bottom Torpedo Minsk.

Three wins from their final four encounters, as well as losing only one of the last six fixtures (W3 D2 L1), helped them surge up the standings in the final stretch. Their away form tailed off remarkably, though, winning only two of their last nine away matches (W2 D3 L4) in which they scored no more than one goal no less than six times – with a 0-0 draw in Slutsk among them.

Defensively, Slavia Mozyr were among the best in the division on their travels, though, with their 19 conceded from 15 outings bettered by only four teams, three of which finished in the top-three places. Nine of those goals were shipped across two outings meanwhile, away to BATE Borisov (4-0) and Shakhtar Soligorsk (5-1), who were second and third respectively, while a goalless draw at champions Dinamo Brest was noteworthy.

FC Slutsk Vs Slavia Mozyr Betting Advice

With little other than last season’s numbers to work off, this was never going to be an easy match-up to predict. Marginal preference, however, would probably be for the visitors, who finished 2019 in marginally superior form and, barring the odd hammering away to the league’s top sides, were defensively sound on the road. Yet it is the draw which most appeals at the odds.

The latter in Slutsk, which has now seen successive goalless affairs between the two teams.
