Fenerbahce Preview – Can Fenerbahce find the net?

Fenerbahce had previously won all five of their pre-season matches, scoring 14 goals and hitting the net at least twice in four of them, but the Turkish side were unable to break through Dynamo Kiev’s stubborn defensive unit in last week’s 0-0 draw in Poland.

In spite of this, Fenerbahce remain in the tie and have a chance to qualify for their first Champions League group stage since 2008-09, but having won just two of their last 11 home ties in the Champions League, the Turkish hosts may face a tougher than expected return leg on Wednesday night.

 

 

Dynamo Kiev Preview – Can Dynamo Kiev extend hold over hosts?

Prior to last week’s goalless draw with Fenerbahce, Dynamo Kiev lost back-to-back friendly matches to Lyon and Royal Antwerp but although they were held to a 0-0 draw in the 1st leg in Poland, Dynamo Kiev will still feel upbeat about their chances in Istanbul on Wednesday night.

There are no domestic league games in Ukraine due to the war with Russia so Dynamo Kiev have had to make do with European friendlies but they hold a decent and unbeaten record against Fenerbahce so the visitors stand a good chance of securing a result here or at least keeping the scores close.
