Finland Prediction – Can Finland take another step to qualification?

Despite being on the end of recent back-to-back defeats to Italy and Bosnia-Herzegovina respectively, Finland still remain in 2nd spot in Group J ahead of their upcoming clash at home against Armenia on Tuesday night.

However, after seemingly placing themselves up into possible qualification for next year’s Euro 2020 finals following an impressive 4-match winning streak, Finland now must collect all three points here if they’re to hold onto 2nd place.

Wins against Armenia (2-0 away), Bosnia-Herzegovina (2-0 at home), Liechtenstein (2-0 away) and a precious 3 points in a 1-0 home win over Greece, saw Finland make hay while the sun shone as they avoided group leaders, Italy, over a 4-match stretch.

Having now played Italy twice (losing on both occasions), Finland have a great opportunity to nail down 2nd spot as they take on Armenia and bottom nation, Liechtenstein, in their next two group matches.

Armenia Prediction – Can Armenia leapfrog Finland into 2nd place?

Armenia will be seeking all three points in this Tuesday night encounter against Finland which could possibly lift them up into 2nd place at the expense of their hosts, depending on how Bosnia-Herzegovina fare against Greece.

The visitors are unbeaten in their last two matches in Group J having recorded a vital 4-2 home win against Bosnia-Herzegovina and a point in a 1-1 draw away at Liechtenstein, although Armenia may well be rueing the latter result and view it as two points dropped against the rock-bottom nation.

Wins against Liechtenstein, Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina have helped Armenia into possible contention for next year’s European Championship, but they face a tough trip to Helsinki in this clash.

Their task looks even harder when you consider Armenia have registered just 1 away win out of their last 8 matches on the road in European qualifiers, that being their recent 3-2 win away at 5th placed Greece.

Key-Facts – Finland v Armenia

  • Finland have won 2 of their 3 home matches to date in Group J
  • Armenia have registered just 1 away win out of their last 8 matches on the road in European qualifiers
  • Finland have won 4 of the previous 5 meetings against Armenia

Betting Tips Verdict

Finland have been pretty steady at home so far and they should just about edge this clash and move a step closer to qualification.
