Fiorentina will look to continue their late surge up the Italian Serie A league table with another win at Stadio Artemio Franchi when they play host to strugglers, Crotone, on Saturday afternoon as the home side seek to close in on a top six finish.
Fiorentina have registered three wins on the trot with victories over Chievo, Benevento and Torino, and with the visit of bottom half outfit Crotone here this afternoon, the home side will be confident they can grab a fourth win on the bounce.
It’s been an inconsistent showing from Fiorentina in this season’s Italian top flight so far, but perhaps there’s signs that the hosts can string together a few good results on home turf where they’ve posted a record of 6-4-4 19/17 to date, especially as they look to dedicate the remainder of their campaign to their captain who tragically died recently.
Crotone currently occupy a bottom three position in Serie A following just one win from their last seven matches overall, which was a heavy 4-1 win over Sampdoria at their Stadio Ezio Scida, but important defeats to relegation rivals, Benevento and SPAL, along with Roma, have left them in the relegation zone.
In addition, Crotone have achieved just one away win from their last seven outings, which was a 3-0 win at second from bottom Hellas Verona, but they’ll be facing a far more difficult proposition in Fiorentina who are fired up to end their season on a desperately needed positive note.
Crotone’s away record stands at a poor 2-2-9 12/29 with only Sassuolo (30 goals) and Benevento (33 goals), conceding more than Crotone on the road in Serie A to date.
