Switching quickly back to the Brazilian top flight for just one more pick and another opportunity to beat the books when Flamengo take on Santos with more betting tips on Thursday night.
Flamengo remain in third spot on the Serie A league ladder despite not winning any of their last three league matches following back-to-back stalemates with Palmeiras and Sao Paulo, both of whom sit in the top five of the division.
These were pretty reasonable results but a 2-1 loss away from home at Botafogo last time out means they come into this Thursday night clash at their Estádio Luso-Brasileiro needing a win in order to hang onto their top four place and automatic qualification for the Copa Libertadores.
Flamengo have a solid record on home turf which reads an impressive 12-2-2 26/6 which includes recent wins over Chapecoense, Atletico Mineiro and Fluminense, but they’ll be coming up against an 8th placed Santos outfit who will still be smarting from their recent defeat to lowly Chapecoense.
Onto the visitors then, and as mentioned, Santos suffered a second defeat on the trot last time out in a humiliating 1-0 loss at home to relegation threatened Chapecoense, and manager Cuca will be demanding a response on Thursday night.
Santos had previously lost 3-2 away at Serie A league leaders, Palmeiras in perhaps an understandable loss, but if Santos want to grab a Copa Libertadores qualifying spot they need to get a result of some kind in this enbcounter.
An away record of 4-5-7 16/21 isn’t great, but Santos’s cause is helped by the absence of Flamengo’s leading goalscorer, Paqueta (10 goals) who is suspended along with two other players (Rene and Willian), while the visitors will be hoping their (and Serie A’s) leading goalscorer, Gabriel (16 goals) can fire them up this evening.
