Despite losing last time out in a free-scoring 3-2 defeat away at Chapecoense, Flamengo remain one of the early leaders of the Brazilian top flight as they sit joint top of Serie A with 10 points to their name ahead of their clash with Vasco da Gama today.

Three of Vasco’s four recent wins though were recorded at their Estádio Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama, but their away form hasn’t been too bad in recent times as they’ve suffered just one defeat from their last eight matches on their travels.
With only one away match played so far this season though, which ended in a 1-1 draw at Chapecoense, this may be the perfect opportunity for Flamengo to flex their muscles in this clash and gain all three points.
