FA Cup Betting at Betfair

Fleetwood Town Prediction

Fleetwood Town sit in 11th place in League One and are 11 points adrift of the play-off pack so it seems unlikely at this stage of the season that Joey Barton’s side will be amongst the top six come May this year.

With a seven point cushion ahead of the bottom four in League One, Fleetwood should also avoid any relegation battles later in the season, so this should be an opportunity for The Cod Army to go as far as they can in the FA Cup and boost the club’s coffers in the process.

Fleetwood Town have shown some impressive form at home in recent times as they’d previously put together a six-match unbeaten run at Highbury Stadium in the league which included five wins and a draw, until their were handed a 5-2 defeat by league leaders Portsmouth.

Nevertheless, Fleetwood will be confident of winning this cup tie with the likes of forwards Madden (10 goals), Evans (9 goals), Burns and Hunter (5 goals apiece) all in good goalscoring form. In addition, the hosts have kept four clean sheets from their last five on home turf.

AFC Wimbledon Prediction

AFC Wimbledon sit bottom of League One and are five points adrift of 20th placed Bradford City as they prepare for their long trip up north to face an in-form Fleetwood Town at Highbury Stadium this Staurday.

Wimbledon have produced some mixed results overall in League One recently as they recorded back-to-back wins against Wycombe Wanderers and Plymouth Argyle but have also suffered defeats to Charlton Athletic and Portsmouth, both of which were away from home.

This will be the first time that Wimbledon have faced league opposition in this season’s FA Cup though as they beat Haringey Borough in the 1st round which was followed up with a 3-1 win away at National League side Halifax.

The Wombles have also achieved just three away wins from their last 12 away matches in all competitions, two of which were at non-league opposition. In addition, Wimbledon have failed to score in 5 of these last 12 while keeping just the one clean sheet.

Betting Tips Verdict

This therefore looks like a Fleetwood Town win here but as it’s a League One clash, I’ll opt to back the hosts with the draw no bet option here.
