Friday’s visitors, Wycombe Wanderers, may well feel aggrieved by the decision to cut short the regular season in League One as they trailed 2nd placed Rotherham United by just three points and The Chairboys may well have fancied their chances of running The Millers down in the final stages of the season.
Wycombe now have to take their chances in the play-off lottery but perhaps they only have themselves to blame for not securing a top two spot sooner as Gareth Ainsworth’s side had produced a real mixed bag of results heading into the lockdown as they’d suffered four defeats as well as picking up four wins in their final eight matches of the season.
