Football – World – World Cup 2018 Betting Tips

Welcome to my World Cup 2018 betting tips, and the first of the semi-finals will take place on Tuesday night with France taking on Belgium at the Saint Petersburg Stadium as the first two of the four teams involved in the semi-finals are already known.

France disposed of Uruguay 2-0 in the quarter-finals with goals from Varane and Griezmann – the latter forcing an error from goalkeeper Muslera after a seemingly innocuous and speculative looking shot from the French forward.

France have gone about their business in quiet and modest fashion as they topped Group C remaining unbeaten in their three group matches with wins over Australia and Peru before being held to a 0-0 draw by Denmark, a result which suited both teams as they progressed to the last 16.

Les Bleus then accounted for Argentina in one of the best matches of the tournament so far as they edged out Messi and Co 4-3 to move into the quarter-finals. Antoine Griezmann (3 goals) is France’s leading goalscorer, but he’ll be facing local rivals Belgium who will be keen to keep him quiet.

Onto Belgium, and they produced another shock in this World Cup when they edged out Brazil 2-1 in the quarter-finals which has again thrown the outcome of this tournament wide open, and now also means that a European nation will lift this World Cup in Russia.

Belgium topped Group G by recording a 100% winning record as they saw off the challenges of Panama 3-0 and Tunisia 5-2 before taking all three points with a 1-0 win over England in what was  virtually a training exercise for both teams, as England had also already qualified for the last 16 by that stage.

Belgium had to show every ounce of their character and resilience in the last 16 though against Japan as they found themselves 2-0 down before staging a remarkable comeback, winning 3-2 thanks to a last-gasp winner from Nacer Chadli to send them into the quarter-finals.

This clash between France and Belgium is a local derby with neither team willing to give an inch. My betting tips system therefore suggests a low scoring affair.
