Fulham and Hull heading for stalemate at Craven Cottage

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

There’s just the one game in the Championship on Wednesday night, but nevertheless, an encounter that holds no less importance as mid-table incumbents Fulham and Hull City clash at Craven Cottage with a top half position at stake for both teams.

Fulham have made a reasonable start to their new Championship campaign, but are still looking for their first home win of the season following draws against Norwich City and Cardiff City which have been the sandwich for a 1-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in-between times.

The goals seem to have also dried up at Craven Cottage too and the hosts have drawn four of their last five on home turf. Last season, Fulham depended on goals from midfielder Cairney (12 goals), but he’s yet to notch this term.

Visitors Hull City sit just one league place below Fulham ahead of Wednesday night’s match, and I daresay The Tigers will be seeking to put out a much better defensive display at Craven Cottage tonight on the back of their 5-0 thrashing away at Derby County last Friday night at Pride Park.

Leon Slutsky’s side imploded in what was a miserable night in the east midlands for Hull, and Slutsky will be demanding a much stiffer backbone from his defenders on Wednesday night as they too seek their first away win of the season, amidst an early away record that stands at  0-1-2  2/8.

Hull have managed just two away wins from their last 10 on their travels in the Championship, so I daresay they’d be happy with a point against Fulham tonight. Bowen, Grosicki and Diomande appear to be Hull’s biggest threats in attack.

Fulham and Hull have both struggled at home and away respectively so far, so this could well end up another stalemate.
