Fulham Prediction

Fulham were handed a heavy 4-1 defeat away at Arsenal in an all-London clash at The Emirates Stadium last time out but the scoreline was a little flattering to Arsenal as Fulham gave a good account of themselves overall.

Fulham had previously earned points in 0-0 and 1-1 draws with Newcastle United and Wolves respectively, along with a valuable three points in a 1-0 home win over Huddersfield Town, and you get the feeling that manager Claudio Ranieri’s side are starting to show slow but steady progress under ‘The Tinkerman’.

Ranieri knows all too well that his number one priority is to keep The Cottagers in the Premier League but will see this match as an ideal chance for his team to return to winning ways in order to boost confidence for this second half of their campaign.

Results certainly seem to be on the rise for Fulham under Ranieri as the hosts have lost just once in their last five matches at home under his guidance. Mitrovic (8 goals), Schurrle (5 goals) and Kamara (3 goals) are the main goal threats for the hosts.

Oldham Athletic Prediction

Although Fulham have struggled in the top flight this season, Oldham’s task of overhauling them at Craven Cottage seems an almost impossible one as the visitors occupy 10th place in the English fourth tier, with two divisions separating them from their hosts.

Oldham head into this cup-tie on the back of two league wins on the trot with wins over Port Vale and Notts County, but it should be noted that both of these teams are situated in the lower regions of League Two.

Oldham have reached the 3rd round of the FA Cup thanks to a 1st round win over Hampton & Richmond which was followed by a 2nd round win at National League strugglers Maidstone United. Again, it needs to be remembered that both of these teams were non-league opposition.

Betting Tips Verdict

Fulham are starting to show progress under Ranieri and although Oldham are also starting to climb up the League Two table, the hosts should have too much quality here.
