Fulham Preview – Can the Cottagers win on home soil?

Fulham have improved of late, but after five straight Premier League draws, the Cottagers have lost back-to-back league games to Chelsea and Manchester United. Scott Parker’s boys have won just one of their last 11 Premier League matches. They sit 18th with 12 points to their name.

In the third round of the FA Cup, Fulham needed extra time to eventually see off west London rivals Queens Park Rangers. Bobby Decordova-Reid opened the scoring in the 104th minute at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, with Neeskens Kebano doubling their advantage a minute later.

Premier League survival will be the priority for Parker’s Cottagers. However, with some winnable league games on the horizon, can Fulham kick off some momentum with a win in the FA Cup at the weekend?

Burnley Preview – Clarets to follow up the Anfield win with victory in the cup?

Burnley ended Liverpool’s incredible 68-game unbeaten home league record in midweek, leaving Anfield with a 1-0 win. After weathering the storm on Merseyside, Ashley Barnes’ 83rd-minute penalty did the damage.

The points on Thursday were vital for Burnley, who lifted themselves seven points clear of Fulham in the Premier League table. It was also only their second away league win of the season having beaten Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last month.

Sean Dyche’s men edged past EFL League One side MK Dons at Turf Moor in the third round of the FA Cup. After a 1-1 draw after 120 minutes, Burnley went on to win 4-3 on penalties. The Clarets will be hoping to win in normal time this Sunday.

Fulham vs Burnley Betting Advice

These two teams have yet to meet in this season’s Premier League, with the last meeting being two years ago. Burnley picked up a 2-1 win at Turf Moor, although Fulham won 4-2 in the reverse game at Craven Cottage several months earlier.

They last met in the FA Cup way back in 2003, with goals from Gareth Taylor, Ian Thomas-Moore and Drissa Diallo giving Burnley a 3-0 victory at Turf Moor.

Key Facts – Fulham vs Burnley Betting Tip

  • Burnley ended Liverpool 68-game unbeaten league record at Anfield on Thursday
  • Fulham have won just two league and cup matches since early November
  • The Clarets have won half of their past 12 in all competitions

On paper, the two sides seem pretty evenly matched. However, Burnley will be buoyed after the midweek win at Anfield, and we fancy Dyche’s boys to edge this one. You can get the solid odds of 15/4 for the away team to win by one goal.

Four of Burnley’s five Premier League wins have ended 1-0. The 1-0 away win here is available at 17/2.
