Two of the EFL Championship big hitters meet at Craven Cottage on Friday night, as Scott Parker’s Fulham welcome Neil Harris’ Cardiff City to the English capital. The Cottagers have got their act together with three straight wins, while the Bluebirds will want to bounce back from their midweek defeat. Take a look at the latest betting odds for this crucial Championship encounter.

Fulham Preview – Will the Cottagers make it four wins on the spin?

Fulham made a sluggish start after returning to action from the break, losing their first two. However, Scott Parker’s boys have been far more ruthless of late, winning three in a row at just the right time. Since a 3-0 defeat at Leeds United, Fulham have beaten Queens Park Rangers, Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest in successive matches.

The London side left it late to beat Birmingham in their last home game, with Josh Onomah’s last-gasp goal giving them a 1-0 win. Fulham repeated that scoreline on Tuesday night, winning 1-0 at promotion rivals Nottingham Forest. 12 of their last 13 league and cup wins have been by a one-goal margin.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
5/6

Nine points from a possible nine was just what the doctor ordered at Craven Cottage after back-to-back defeats to Brentford and Leeds. The Cottagers have fired themselves into fourth and are pretty much nailed on for at least a play-off spot. Until it’s mathematically impossible, Parker’s men will not be giving up on the top two, either.

Fulham have one of the best home records in the league, winning 13 of 21. Can the west London outfit pick up another vital three points on home soil this Friday?

Cardiff City Preview – Can the Bluebirds bounce back from defeat?

Cardiff City have picked up more points at home this season, but they have been very strong on the road since Neil Harris took over from Neil Warnock last year. In fact, the Bluebirds have won five of their last six away matches in the Championship, seeing off the likes of Preston North End and Bristol City in their previous two.

After an excellent Severnside derby victory at Ashton Gate last Sunday, Cardiff crashed to a somewhat surprising 3-2 loss to Blackburn Rovers at the Cardiff City Stadium in midweek. Despite leading twice, Harris’ men were deservedly beaten by Tony Mowbray’s Rovers, who moved to within five points of the Welsh side in the race for sixth.

Cardiff have plenty of experience in promotion battles from the Championship in recent times, but defeat last time out has them looking over their shoulder again. As I touched on, City have been superb away from home of late, so they will head to Craven Cottage in high spirits. Three points for Cardiff on Friday would be huge for their play-off aspirations.

Fulham vs Cardiff City Betting Advice

Fulham and Cardiff know each other very well these days. The pair were promoted together from the 2017-18 Championship campaign before both suffering relegation from the Premier League last term. There is also a possibility they could meet in this season’s Championship play-offs.

Key Facts – Fulham vs Cardiff City Betting Tip

  • Fulham have won three on the bounce
  • Cardiff have won five of their last six away league matches
  • Both sides are currently in the top six of the Championship table

In the reverse matchup at the Cardiff City Stadium earlier in the season, Fulham came from behind to get a point. Josh Murphy put City in front, but Aleksandar Mitrovic levelled things up for the Cottagers shortly after. Former Bluebird Harry Arter, who scored the winner in midweek, was sent off in the second half.

With Fulham in fine fettle, while Cardiff are on a great run of form away from home, I’m predicting this tasty Championship clash to end all square in the English capital on Friday night. Put some money on another 1-1 draw between the two at 11/2.
