Scott Parker’s Fulham entertain Steve Cooper’s Swansea City at Craven Cottage in a big fixture in the EFL Championship on Wednesday. The Cottages have slipped up in recent weeks, falling five points behind second-place Leeds United. Can Fulham get back on track with three points against the Swans in midweek?

Fulham Preview – Will the Cottagers claim first win in four?

Fulham were right on the tails of Leeds after back-to-back wins over Huddersfield Town and Blackburn Rovers. However, since then, United have got back on track, while the Cottagers have taken just two points from a possible nine. The London side have now slipped five points behind second place.

Scott Parker’s men have been in patchy form lately, winning just two of their previous seven league and cup matches. Since the turn of the year, the Cottagers have won four of eight in the Championship, although they have suffered only one league defeat during that time.

Our betting prediction:
Both teams to score
4/6

Fulham have one of the best home records in the Championship at present. The west London outfit have taken 32 home points, with just Preston North End, Derby County and Leeds accumulating more up until now.

After going three games without a win at just the wrong time, Fulham will be eager to strike back with a home victory at Craven Cottage on Wednesday. However, Swansea also have eyes for promotion, and the Welsh team will no doubt give the Cottagers a good game in the capital.

Swansea City Preview – Can the Swans make it back-to-back wins in the Championship?

Steve Cooper’s Swansea City claimed a much-needed win last time out. It was far from easy against Danny Cowley’s battling Huddersfield Town, but goals from Andre Ayew, Jay Fulton and Jordan Garrick gave the Swans a 3-1 success over the Terriers at the Liberty Stadium.

That was Swansea’s first victory in six, as the Welsh club had previously taken just three points from a possible 15 (three draws). As a result, Swansea have slipped out of the top six, down to ninth. The Swans are five points adrift of sixth-placed Preston with 12 matches left to play.

Swansea have been decent on the road this term, winning five times, but their last victory away from home came against Luton Town at Kenilworth Road a few days before Christmas. Since then, they have lost three and drawn three of six league and cup away fixtures. Nonetheless, can Swansea cause an upset at Craven Cottage in midweek?

Fulham vs Swansea City Betting Advice

Fulham edged a tight game when the teams locked horns at the Liberty Stadium in November, which was the first league meeting between the pair for over five years. Two first-half Aleksandar Mitrovic goals helped the Cottagers to a superb 2-1 victory in South Wales.

Key Facts – Fulham vs Swansea City Betting Tip

  • Fulham are without a win in three league games
  • Swansea’s victory over Huddersfield last time out was their first win in six
  • 32 of Fulham’s 57 points have come at Craven Cottage

This will not be an easy game for either side, as both need the points. Fulham are the favourites on home turf, but Steve Cooper’s troops will fancy their chances of returning to Wales with something to show for their efforts. My money is going on the draw and both teams to score at 15/4.

Aleksandar Mitrovic, who scored a brace in South Wales in November, is the Championship’s leading scorer with an impressive 22 goals to his name. The Serbia international is priced at 7/2 to score first in this one.
